Those who are believers in the Gospel can be assured of a home beyond this one on earth and death. We are the children of God and heirs to His inheritance. God is blessing us with that assurance while we are on earth and yet again when we reach heaven when in His presence. We have a lot to look forward to!! (Also look this verse up in the Message for an expanded version of this great verse.)<br />
<br />
Now on to the craft portion of this post. It's been a while since I've posted so will give an abbreviated version of things I've done.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LKUjXYnrZwI/V8W1JLv5tuI/AAAAAAAABUQ/uUdZfBLdU7AphrbV1a714fevUi9z5fFmACLcB/s1600/IMG_3459.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LKUjXYnrZwI/V8W1JLv5tuI/AAAAAAAABUQ/uUdZfBLdU7AphrbV1a714fevUi9z5fFmACLcB/s320/IMG_3459.JPG" width="240" /></a>This card is for a 20th aniversary. Hearts are from SU Hearts a flutter stamp set and Butterfly Basics.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card shows the CTMH Paper Garden stamp set using different colors.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This is an anniversary card using the SU Bird Builder punch. Above is the scalloped edge punch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Pg39xWSOPw0/V8W1Y8CVaQI/AAAAAAAABUk/n-k23tVdaE4nCJg7XfMFosQSZBz4hffmgCLcB/s1600/IMG_3472.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Pg39xWSOPw0/V8W1Y8CVaQI/AAAAAAAABUk/n-k23tVdaE4nCJg7XfMFosQSZBz4hffmgCLcB/s320/IMG_3472.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here I used the owl punch to make the tulips. All the pieces were added except the sentiment area and then the card was embossed.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l-h3qWbiyOo/V8W1e3PzkkI/AAAAAAAABUs/TKZ8h3sVElgbSbkL6fpZMgPdpzmqbk7YgCLcB/s1600/IMG_3474.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l-h3qWbiyOo/V8W1e3PzkkI/AAAAAAAABUs/TKZ8h3sVElgbSbkL6fpZMgPdpzmqbk7YgCLcB/s320/IMG_3474.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I needed a different lady's birthday card so used this set from CTMH-A happy hello. It turned out very cheery with all the different colors used.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Zim9GqMVRDw/V8W3kWUx5WI/AAAAAAAABU4/b9VcdGnyitUh0aqvXY32opga-3fV1neBwCLcB/s1600/IMG_3444.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Zim9GqMVRDw/V8W3kWUx5WI/AAAAAAAABU4/b9VcdGnyitUh0aqvXY32opga-3fV1neBwCLcB/s320/IMG_3444.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
This is a birthday card requested by a friend to give to her friend. it is mostly done using punches. The middle of the ladybug was made using a scalloped die.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iHF-6x3MMNI/V8W3mQ-_qdI/AAAAAAAABU8/zLuzQyR_Aq8mSzbJ7xVDNG_f9UDjzLjEACLcB/s1600/IMG_3445.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iHF-6x3MMNI/V8W3mQ-_qdI/AAAAAAAABU8/zLuzQyR_Aq8mSzbJ7xVDNG_f9UDjzLjEACLcB/s320/IMG_3445.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
SU Mosaic Madness stamps and punch was used for the main feature on this card. Under the main strip is the scalloped edge punch. Embossing was done using the Mosaic embossing folder by SU.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-m00Ip_Z6ujo/V8W3pZPn8UI/AAAAAAAABVA/Uuqxt6SgC50LKw8EBd45y4sGA6skfS71wCLcB/s1600/IMG_3448.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-m00Ip_Z6ujo/V8W3pZPn8UI/AAAAAAAABVA/Uuqxt6SgC50LKw8EBd45y4sGA6skfS71wCLcB/s320/IMG_3448.JPG" width="240" /></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
SU Flower Garden and pansy punch were used to make the main part of the card in 2 different colors. One of the butterflies from Butterfly Basics was used for the embellishment. A deep edge punch from Martha Stewart was used for embellishment on the side.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Sj-B8vSU_U8/V8W3rvZstUI/AAAAAAAABVE/X9SbXlcJf60AmLex2BZednttUSLrCJJJQCLcB/s1600/IMG_3449.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Sj-B8vSU_U8/V8W3rvZstUI/AAAAAAAABVE/X9SbXlcJf60AmLex2BZednttUSLrCJJJQCLcB/s320/IMG_3449.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is embossing on 2 different pieces, labels in 2 different sizes and a butterfly die cut in the middle.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zAWh-m5oDkc/V8W3yiuaaZI/AAAAAAAABVI/GxoI6CW-2AoeBtszaNYSo15rStTDQFZwgCLcB/s1600/IMG_3451.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zAWh-m5oDkc/V8W3yiuaaZI/AAAAAAAABVI/GxoI6CW-2AoeBtszaNYSo15rStTDQFZwgCLcB/s320/IMG_3451.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you have stencils that you haven't used in a while, time to get them out. The background of this is done with a stencil; stamping on the top with decorated paper on the bottom to coordinate. A little ribbon at the top ties it all together.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zjDnj9f33xM/V8W33ji9Q0I/AAAAAAAABVM/K1suPd_sqhA9HORYVDTqKTbKGnjXdsIzwCLcB/s1600/IMG_3453.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zjDnj9f33xM/V8W33ji9Q0I/AAAAAAAABVM/K1suPd_sqhA9HORYVDTqKTbKGnjXdsIzwCLcB/s320/IMG_3453.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Both of these techniques are found on Pinterest as are most of the cards done here. The top uses 5 punched out butterflies that are glued together just on the edges to make an accordian fold. The bottom shows 3 different color banners and the whole card is then embossed with the happy birthday embossing folder. it is then topped with small butterflies and a label with "celebrate" die cut glued on.<br />
<br />
I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I have done. Give some of them a try if you haven't already. Most are from Pinterest or have the inspiration from cards seen there.<br />
<br />
Blessings to you and yours.<br />

And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">This is what and why we celebrate the occasion of Easter. Jesus came to live and die for all of mankind's errors/sins. We will continue on our card journey.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Hdg0-aa68hM/VmiYJOiE_3I/AAAAAAAAA0U/XCVw6vkqx80/s1600/IMG_3167.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Hdg0-aa68hM/VmiYJOiE_3I/AAAAAAAAA0U/XCVw6vkqx80/s320/IMG_3167.JPG" width="240" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f24W30QC4G4/VmiYLeFpuuI/AAAAAAAAA0c/hsc42N8qkOw/s1600/IMG_3169.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-f24W30QC4G4/VmiYLeFpuuI/AAAAAAAAA0c/hsc42N8qkOw/s320/IMG_3169.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These two cards were made at a friend's house so do not know the sources.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here again is the SU Bird punch. I also used a small flower punch of unknown source.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card was partially embossed and the embellishments. Flat laces were applied around the edges. Hearts were cut from SU's Hearts a Flutter dies and then embossed.</div>

These stamps are from Close to My Heart Paper Garden set.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card is a collage card of various papers. The one in the middle has been sewn on using a sewing machine zig zag. Some flat lace is glued at the bottom as are some buttons and a sentiment.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IeuCgL_Xxw0/VmiZr-0jIzI/AAAAAAAAA1E/Qy5DYj6m2ZU/s1600/IMG_3188.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IeuCgL_Xxw0/VmiZr-0jIzI/AAAAAAAAA1E/Qy5DYj6m2ZU/s320/IMG_3188.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Here again is the Paper Garden stamp set using some different colors.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FnO7PIr350M/VmiZrlziQuI/AAAAAAAAA1A/4pRwpHz23BY/s1600/IMG_3189.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FnO7PIr350M/VmiZrlziQuI/AAAAAAAAA1A/4pRwpHz23BY/s320/IMG_3189.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A friend of mine likes Betty Boop so for her birthday I made this card using SU's Top Note die (now retired). The idea came from Pinterest. The rest of the elements are mostly die cuts and punches.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wxTUpbln0NI/VmiZtGgS1CI/AAAAAAAAA1Y/vTb8mDh1pI0/s1600/IMG_3191.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wxTUpbln0NI/VmiZtGgS1CI/AAAAAAAAA1Y/vTb8mDh1pI0/s320/IMG_3191.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Stampin Up has a new embossing folder: Woodlands. It is fun to use as you can make it seem there are things behind the trees: could be a vehicle, other trees or in this case the mountains in the distance.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2wq0C6dNi5M/VmiZzd52cPI/AAAAAAAAA1g/y7cjClvLtSA/s1600/IMG_3201.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2wq0C6dNi5M/VmiZzd52cPI/AAAAAAAAA1g/y7cjClvLtSA/s320/IMG_3201.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Again from Pinterest is an idea using the Mixed Bunch stamp and the Blossom punch from SU. Just stamp the flower a few times. Punch out 2 white Blossom punches. Stamp out a center. Adhere all together and put on a matching card base.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zUlkJsUI7nQ/VmiZ06JDh5I/AAAAAAAAA1o/R17QF-b5DQM/s1600/IMG_3202.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zUlkJsUI7nQ/VmiZ06JDh5I/AAAAAAAAA1o/R17QF-b5DQM/s320/IMG_3202.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is an example of a type of iris folding w/o the iris. This is just strips of cardstock behind a cutout heart that had been cut from textured card stock. I turned over the hart and then stamped a greeting on it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CPGuJKUYFDA/VmicJkdfIGI/AAAAAAAAA14/F3yEbvqwZJ0/s1600/IMG_3210.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CPGuJKUYFDA/VmicJkdfIGI/AAAAAAAAA14/F3yEbvqwZJ0/s320/IMG_3210.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had this turned the right way up but for some reason, it wouldn't come out that way. Anyway this was a fun card to make. It is done with emboss resist. I hadn't done this technique in a while so decided to try it again. First thing is to stamp the "weeds" in versamark ink and then emboss with white embossing powder. I highlighted the flower part using Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. Then I sponged Salty Ocean Distress Ink and Marvy Turquoise ink all over the card. The text is the turquoise ink stamped a few times. A strip of burlap paper is toward the bottom with a strip of flat lace glued on with a single branch glued under. Two textured die cut butterflies are glued on to the strip of burlap and lace. The idea for this is from Pinerest as are a lot of these cards.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I've done over the last few months. I haven't put all my cards up or my other projects. There are still some items to be done before Christmas plus finish my big list of Christmas cards. So I had better get to my list of "elf" duties. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas season with all the glory and awe that it involves. Blessings to you!!</div>

This is the One who we celebrate this season. His coming changed the world and its people forever. A simple faith in the Son of God as your personal Savior can change you and your world. He wants to come into your life and have an ongoing relationship with you so that you can have the life abundant and life eternal with Him. Celebrate the Prince of Peace!<br />

Since I seem to have taken almost half a year off from blogging, it really is time to catch up once again. This is a busy time of year but you can always bookmark this issue and then come back after all the festivities have past, relax with a cuppa and sort through some card ideas.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Tt3lLzZHBdA/VmiO16dawQI/AAAAAAAAAyI/CCzYAu1L5do/s1600/IMG_3073.JPG" imageanchor="1"></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GU9L8br8Ng4/VmiO4g0Y_xI/AAAAAAAAAyU/Ore_2uBsw1I/s1600/IMG_3074.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GU9L8br8Ng4/VmiO4g0Y_xI/AAAAAAAAAyU/Ore_2uBsw1I/s320/IMG_3074.JPG" width="320" /></a><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Tt3lLzZHBdA/VmiO16dawQI/AAAAAAAAAyI/CCzYAu1L5do/s320/IMG_3073.JPG" width="240" /><br />
<br />
<br />
This stamp set is from Close to My Heart, Typed Note and includes the typewriter and some messages. The punch at the edge is from stampin up but think it is retired.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aN7V69jcZcY/VmiP774EzKI/AAAAAAAAAyc/_bdZHUKfQzM/s1600/IMG_3078.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aN7V69jcZcY/VmiP774EzKI/AAAAAAAAAyc/_bdZHUKfQzM/s320/IMG_3078.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This cute bear is made using die cuts and punches. It can be found on Pinterest.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nHvzZIjBHsg/VmiQBO1HbqI/AAAAAAAAAyk/-51VzuHMqFo/s1600/IMG_3084.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nHvzZIjBHsg/VmiQBO1HbqI/AAAAAAAAAyk/-51VzuHMqFo/s320/IMG_3084.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This simple card has an embossed background using Mosaic Madness embossing folder from Stampin Up and two different spellbinder dies. The one with the white paper was cut partially to give it a tag like effect.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-he0wqA-Ihpw/VmiQLOASQVI/AAAAAAAAAys/Yt6rleIrM1Y/s1600/IMG_3085.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-he0wqA-Ihpw/VmiQLOASQVI/AAAAAAAAAys/Yt6rleIrM1Y/s320/IMG_3085.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The feathers on this card are from a feather stamp set from Close to My Heart and I just cut them out. The burlap is from a paper pad and the edging is an edge punch from Martha Stewart.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Hf6jJfXZtnY/VmiQQSuTlhI/AAAAAAAAAy0/t_y8RCZFRTU/s1600/IMG_3091.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Hf6jJfXZtnY/VmiQQSuTlhI/AAAAAAAAAy0/t_y8RCZFRTU/s320/IMG_3091.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once again I used the We Are Memory Keepers Envelope Punch and made this card using double sided paper. The medalion on the front is made with a Martha Stewart punch as is the edging at the bottom.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MmzFZWsdUm8/VmiQYZCAAcI/AAAAAAAAAy8/fc6ZLSfqPUc/s1600/IMG_3105.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MmzFZWsdUm8/VmiQYZCAAcI/AAAAAAAAAy8/fc6ZLSfqPUc/s320/IMG_3105.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The die cut here is from SU's Butterfly Basics set. Don't know the embossing folder used. I think the designer paper is also SU. I made this at a friend's house so don't know the sources.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0bFpUndz61k/VmiQdHE7iBI/AAAAAAAAAzE/StTb91TJySE/s1600/IMG_3090.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0bFpUndz61k/VmiQdHE7iBI/AAAAAAAAAzE/StTb91TJySE/s320/IMG_3090.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is another embossed card but it had been stamped on first. The hearts are sparkly paper die cuts.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DNdv6T3hRIk/VmiS-fhkWoI/AAAAAAAAAzQ/qZ2dBfYldRg/s1600/IMG_3112.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DNdv6T3hRIk/VmiS-fhkWoI/AAAAAAAAAzQ/qZ2dBfYldRg/s320/IMG_3112.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was a fun way to use die cuts. Just split one die cut into two and add embellishments. The heart was a die cut also and then put through an embossing folder.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FAjh8jmweeQ/VmiTDdFxAWI/AAAAAAAAAzY/feweXhWbacE/s1600/IMG_3119.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FAjh8jmweeQ/VmiTDdFxAWI/AAAAAAAAAzY/feweXhWbacE/s320/IMG_3119.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
The embossing folder used for this card is Elegant Lines from SU. Some designer paper was glued down first onto the card base. The Blossom punch was used on the right side to allow the paper to show through. Additional die cuts/punches were used to decorate.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AyvBEBV41_g/VmiTJUgxAaI/AAAAAAAAAzg/-Ks5dLt0Oi4/s1600/IMG_3124.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AyvBEBV41_g/VmiTJUgxAaI/AAAAAAAAAzg/-Ks5dLt0Oi4/s320/IMG_3124.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A variety of punches were used to make the flower and then die cut hearts. The edge is made with a Martha Stewart punch.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0vCEWZwgIqM/VmiTMfxbeGI/AAAAAAAAAzo/h5njMtuMPx4/s1600/IMG_3127.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0vCEWZwgIqM/VmiTMfxbeGI/AAAAAAAAAzo/h5njMtuMPx4/s320/IMG_3127.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Masking is the technique used here. Mask off a strip in the middle of the card and sponge on desired inks. Remove masking, ink up stamp and stamp images. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NdW3LeF3lAs/VmiTS2tl5MI/AAAAAAAAAzw/wkotdmDgnuA/s1600/IMG_3130.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NdW3LeF3lAs/VmiTS2tl5MI/AAAAAAAAAzw/wkotdmDgnuA/s320/IMG_3130.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This cute bird was made using SU's Bird punch. Just punch out in various color card stocks.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sO0u1nFiOlA/VmiTWYAynsI/AAAAAAAAAz4/NVlEGu5jYRg/s1600/IMG_3131.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sO0u1nFiOlA/VmiTWYAynsI/AAAAAAAAAz4/NVlEGu5jYRg/s320/IMG_3131.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card was made using SU's Butterfly Basics stamp set. The die cut is one that goes with that stamp set.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Stay tuned for Part 2</div>

The blog was supposedly lost. But look again and you will see the sign in information was where it went wrong. It helps to use the correct information to get where you want on the internet. So note to self: be sure to check information to make sure it is correct for what I want to do. Nuff said on that subject. Hence, there has been a huge delay to update this blog. Really is was a bit of that mistake on my part and a bit of just plain procrastination.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">There have been quite a few cards made so have a lot to share.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--Osx8TUQHcM/VblQx8_6QbI/AAAAAAAAAmc/MtMRkN5zIY8/s1600/IMG_2824.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--Osx8TUQHcM/VblQx8_6QbI/AAAAAAAAAmc/MtMRkN5zIY8/s320/IMG_2824.JPG" width="320" /></a> The first card is a fun one to give to kids as it is so colorful. Different sized and colored circles are glue to a background and then texturized with an embossing folder. A banner was added for a little more interest.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iS_7Tb-pZZU/VblQ4oOpmnI/AAAAAAAAAmk/QwHGpnmmtqY/s1600/IMG_2837.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iS_7Tb-pZZU/VblQ4oOpmnI/AAAAAAAAAmk/QwHGpnmmtqY/s320/IMG_2837.JPG" width="240" /></a> This card combines a pre printed panel with other easily created elements. Lilac and tan panels are layered under a scallop circle w/ a white circle and the sentiment stamped on. A Stampin Up Pansy punch and Petite Petals punch create the flower. A strip of burlap and ribbon finish it off.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dSAn9v6XSNM/VblQ8bgdNDI/AAAAAAAAAms/yApf1BZb_9U/s1600/IMG_2838.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dSAn9v6XSNM/VblQ8bgdNDI/AAAAAAAAAms/yApf1BZb_9U/s320/IMG_2838.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TmqfPXo3cEQ/VblRANP9PfI/AAAAAAAAAm0/croPjocCraI/s1600/IMG_2839.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TmqfPXo3cEQ/VblRANP9PfI/AAAAAAAAAm0/croPjocCraI/s320/IMG_2839.JPG" width="320" /></a> This card has an interesting opening. I used Spellbinders labels in 4 different sizes. The card base is in the shape of the largest die. The front has layers of the various sizes. The technique to making this card is from Dawn Griffith's blog: dawnsstampingthoughts.net. I just used a different set of dies but the technique is the same. the Mr. and Mrs. card can be found on her blog.</div>

Since I have figured out why I couldn't access my blog, I can now update like it should be. Don't know about where you are, but our summer here arrived early and it meant real heat business. We had 2 1/2 wks. of 100+ weather. About a week of cooler temps. arrived and now back up to hi 90's and into the 100's again. But the alternative (a foot of snow) is no good either. Never satisfied eh?</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times,"Times New Roman",serif;">Psalm 62:8</span></span>- </span><b></b> Trust in him at all times, O people; <span class="highlight">pour out</span> your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. "Selah" No matter what is happening to us or around us, God is the only constant. Our lives go with the ebb and flow of life. People come and go in our life. Situations change. We are ever in flux. <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Now to do some catching up on some cards that have gone out from my craft table.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FJzPDw1s4Kw/VbpxUaBjsFI/AAAAAAAAAq4/DiiUBChiMpo/s1600/IMG_2796.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FJzPDw1s4Kw/VbpxUaBjsFI/AAAAAAAAAq4/DiiUBChiMpo/s320/IMG_2796.JPG" width="320" /> <span style="color: black;">The first one is a slider card as you can see. The light blue panel slides inside and then can be pulled out to reveal the message.</span></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-74jgunzuayc/VbpxVO48dlI/AAAAAAAAArA/fw632T2AaUY/s1600/IMG_2798.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-74jgunzuayc/VbpxVO48dlI/AAAAAAAAArA/fw632T2AaUY/s320/IMG_2798.JPG" width="240" /><span style="color: black;"> The second card is a mixture of elements. The flourish is using an unknown stamp. The turquoise panel is textured with a Tim Holtz embossing folder. The medallion was printed off using a digital image from 2013 Stampin Up collection. The punches are both Martha Stewart embroidery for at least one of them.</span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: black;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_xKgxTI3VnI/VbpxYq_TfQI/AAAAAAAAArI/sptjnJAJyN0/s1600/IMG_2827.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_xKgxTI3VnI/VbpxYq_TfQI/AAAAAAAAArI/sptjnJAJyN0/s320/IMG_2827.JPG" width="240" /> <span style="color: black;">Stampin Up Butterfly Basics was used for the stamps on this card. The co-ordinating thinlits were used to make the die cuts. At the top edge i used an old SU edge punch. At the bottom I used fleur de lis edge punch from EK Success I think. A bit of burlap was cut for a banner. Under the bottom trim are 2 different washi tapes.</span></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="color: black;"> </span> </span></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: black;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YtNbuk9joTI/VbpxgLuECAI/AAAAAAAAArY/ktUYkalU5v8/s1600/IMG_2829.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YtNbuk9joTI/VbpxgLuECAI/AAAAAAAAArY/ktUYkalU5v8/s640/IMG_2829.JPG" width="640" /><span style="color: black;">These cards were made at our monthly stamp group meeting. The theme was 10 minute cards. Everyone was to bring the ingredients to make a card in 10 minutes or less. So we got a lot done that night.</span></a></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: black;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eB8g-4ZsddY/Vbpxj8A6dwI/AAAAAAAAArg/iS0UQUOftr4/s1600/IMG_2824.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eB8g-4ZsddY/Vbpxj8A6dwI/AAAAAAAAArg/iS0UQUOftr4/s320/IMG_2824.JPG" width="320" /><span style="color: black;">Kids like colorful things and their birthday cards are should be colorful, too. This is an easy one. Just cut out different colored and sized circles and glue to background. Texture w/ embossing folder. I think this one is mandarin screen. Then add another colored banner for more interest.</span></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The image is again from the 2013 SU digital collection. It is mounted in oval shape on another oval and then onto a strip. The white card stock had been texturized at the top and stamped at the bottom.</span></a></span></div>

It uses various sizes of labels from Spellbinders. These are all layered on the front along with some flower punches. The card base is shaped cut to make it fold into itself. <span style="color: black;"> <span style="color: black;">A trend going around now is the exchange of pocket letters. You make 9 ATC - sized cards and decorate them. Insert into the sleeve protector used for sport cards. Treats of the edible and/or crafting variety are inserted behind in the pockets as desired. A backing paper is placed clear at the back.In one of the pockets is to be placed a letter from the sender about themself. Embellishments such as ribbons, fibers, charms,etc. can be attached to the page. Other goodies can be included in the package if desired, but the idea is to be able to mail in a #10 envelope. </span></span><br />

<br /></div>
Both these cards went to my son's house as he had a birthday (the golf one) and he and his wife had their first wedding anniversary in June.The idea is off Pinterest from tammyb.blogspot.com. The anniversary card used a technique new to me. My friend got a Minc machine. It came with some pre printed images so I used the congratulations one and ran it thru the machine using the gold foil. I know it doesn't show up very well but it is shiny gold color. For the base of the card I die cut a heart using Spellbinders heart die and inlaid it into a similar aperture cut in the card base. Then the card was embossed using the SU Elegant Lines embossing folder. I also applied some pretty holographic glitter for accent.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yLKgxsMAogE/VbqJNsa6oDI/AAAAAAAAAwo/nP6D2OQ6AVE/s1600/IMG_3057.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yLKgxsMAogE/VbqJNsa6oDI/AAAAAAAAAwo/nP6D2OQ6AVE/s320/IMG_3057.JPG" width="240" /><span style="color: black;">This was a fun card to make for anniversary. As you can see, it was embossed. Two hearts cut out, one from music paper and one embossed card stock. The rose trim is fabric trim and the white trim is poly lace trim. The blue strip was made using a Martha edge punch.</span></a></div>

Four colors card stock were punched from a heart punch and layered on a colorful decorated paper strip. A medallion punch glue on top w/ a button.</span></a></div>

I could not gain access to my blog. It kept telling me there was no blog in that account. Who was I to know that it was the wrong account and who was I to know that there was more than one? Long story short, I figured out that I used the wrong information sign in and hence was not going to my ongoing blog. Got it all sorted and so finally got here.<br />
<br />
Have had quite a time trying to put up some pictures for you all to see. I had it almost all done and then like the proverbial "glitch" it just went poof. So this will have to be all for now. Will try again later with pictures.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12264207699407866297noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7949583498053113249.post-46431356150523286732015-04-01T18:22:00.000-07:002015-04-01T18:22:16.479-07:00Resurrection Sunday 2015<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Greetings bloggers,<br />
It is that time of year that we are reminded of the price that our Lord paid for each and every person to erase the penalty of their sins. This holiday's origins did not come from a bunny or chicks, although those things do remind us of the new life of spring. Easter is about the sacrifice that the Lord Jesus Christ took on Himself so that we may have a relationship with Him while here on earth and after death, to live with Him in heaven for all eternity.<br />

Hello bloggers,<br />
Here in the Pacific Northwest we have had a nice mild winter, unlike a lot of the rest of the country. But am thinking we will pay for it in the summer with water restrictions. The grass has been growing, flowers are budding, trees are forming buds. Our lilac tree is getting new shoots. Am in anticipation of all the new growth to appear and show it's glory.<br />

<span class="verse">This is such an encouraging verse in that it assures us that the Lord God is listening to our prayers and will forgive. We need a repentant heart (one who is willing to turn from doing wrong) and open heart to follow what God has told us. Jesus came for that reason-to tell and show us of God's love and His intent to have a relationship with us. What a blessing that is!!!</span><br />

<span class="verse"> In January it was my turn to bring the demo for my stamping club. I chose to have for my theme Valentines since I like to share love and especially on that day. So here are the three cards that we made at that meeting:</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-shAib5rmGMY/VPj5KBZ-ltI/AAAAAAAAAiY/G-wuJa8QV5o/s1600/IMG_2750.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-shAib5rmGMY/VPj5KBZ-ltI/AAAAAAAAAiY/G-wuJa8QV5o/s1600/IMG_2750.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
This blue and brown plaid one has a masculine feel to it for those who needed such a card. The background is done with a wood grain embossing folder w/ light gray ink on it. The other papers are of unknown source. The scallop heart is a Stampin Up die cut and the little heart is a hand punch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C5uCCIJLXNw/VPj5L3lJwJI/AAAAAAAAAig/RLnb563xFAw/s1600/IMG_2751.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C5uCCIJLXNw/VPj5L3lJwJI/AAAAAAAAAig/RLnb563xFAw/s1600/IMG_2751.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
This mousey one is made using circles cut (I used a die) and hearts cut with a punch. The little eyes were made with a hand punch. The label is a stamp and matching die from Papertrey Ink. The sparkly heart is from the dollar store.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="scripture">
<span class="verse"> This butterfly card starts with an embossed background using a cuttlebug embossing folder I believe. The scalloped hearts are from Stampin Up as are the smaller hearts. They are from a stamp set called Hearts A Flutter with a matching die set. I stamped the greeting on card stock and then folded so it will meet in the middle. A little banner was made for the body of the butterfly. Red hearts are from dollar store.</span></div>

This is a birthday card I mailed to a friend. It is a bit washed out as the card stock was more coral color. The embossing folder is called swirl frame I think. The flowers were stamped on light coral vellum using Stampin Up's Flower Shop and punched with the Pansy punch. They were stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed in white. In the middle are little pearls. The leaves are made with Martha Stewart punch.<br />

<span class="verse"> My son was married last year and they just moved into a house so of course had to send a new house card. As you can see, it is very simple. I used the scallop heart again to make a port for the picture to show through. Inside was an appropriate verse.</span><br />

<span class="verse"> A couple of friends came over for some craft time and we made more valentine cards. This one starts with collage style stamping on the cover. On a square piece of card stock we glued strips of decorated paper on the diagonal. A heart is punched out of the middle. Save the cut out piece. Behind the cut out is place a piece of card stock that has been embossed and sanded. Then the cut out heart is attached to the card and a little flower added.</span><br />

This card starts with embossing using the damask embossing folder. A piece of white card stock is also embossed with the same folder and punched out using the Blossom punch from Stampin Up along with a punch from red paper. A rectangle piece of white is embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing f older and layered on red paper. The large heart is cut from decorated paper with a heart die. The tag is stamped and then cut free hand. They are all layered together.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This card uses the same heart embossing folder as in a card above and also uses the border folder for the blue strip. The hearts are from the Hearts A Flutter stamp and die set. A banner was made by stamping on card stock and cutting the end. It was then threaded through a heart embellishment.<br />

Greetings for a new year and may you have many blessings in this year. We have been busy since I last posted which is waaaaay too long ago. Sorry about that. The holidays included Thanksgiving with 2 of our daughters and Christmas and new year's with daughter #1 & #2 in Colorado. We were gifted with a white Christmas followed by several days of minus temperatures. But we all had an enjoyable time.<br />
<br />
Psalm 24:1-5 <br />
<span class="versetext"> The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
</span>
<span class="versetext">
<span class="versenum">2</span>
for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.
</span>
<span class="versetext">
<span class="versenum">3</span>
Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?
</span>
<span class="versetext">
<span class="versenum">4</span>
He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false.
</span>
<span class="versetext">
<span class="versenum">5</span>
He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior.</span><br />
<span class="versetext">It is so reassuring to know that the Lord has His hand on the world that we live in, the world He created and sustains. Whatever comes our way in this new year, know that the Lord, He is God and worthy of all our worship and praise. Do so with a clean heart and thanksgiving to God.</span><br />
<span class="versetext"><br /></span>
<span class="versetext">Now on to the crafting section. In November I taught a card class at our local scrapbook store for Christmas cards. Below you will see the samples.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jn36LfwSoPw/VMRXJIA9U3I/AAAAAAAAAgE/UghoC3MV4FQ/s1600/IMG_2608.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jn36LfwSoPw/VMRXJIA9U3I/AAAAAAAAAgE/UghoC3MV4FQ/s1600/IMG_2608.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
The blue one is a large star cut with a die and textured. The small star is also die cut with a few stamped stars on the background. A greeting is layered with blue and silver ribbon under.<br />
<span class="versetext">The "music" one has a die cut poinsetta using Poppy dies and punched out leaves. It doesn't show up very well in the picture, but the flower has a delicate punched out top which makes it look lacy. The music is scrapbooking paper under the front of the cut out card front.</span><br />
<span class="versetext">On the bottom is a twist card using double sided card stock. A medallion was made from 2 punched out circles stamped with a greeting layered on a ribbon. This card can be used for a gift card or money holder for giving.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="versetext"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Kqh9CRoCYBw/VMRYpggKd0I/AAAAAAAAAgY/JDO6bYFe7Ls/s1600/IMG_2613.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Kqh9CRoCYBw/VMRYpggKd0I/AAAAAAAAAgY/JDO6bYFe7Ls/s1600/IMG_2613.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
These 2 cards were made at a friend's house. The left lavendar one has a lattice style edge on the left made by using a template and making cuts and then folding the points. The middle is die cut with the greeting put on a smaller die cut inside. The other card is showing the use of washi tape and sequins to embellish.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Q3M0meL2HI4/VMRYmG_qQ4I/AAAAAAAAAgQ/8LdhdwzjGWU/s1600/IMG_2597.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Q3M0meL2HI4/VMRYmG_qQ4I/AAAAAAAAAgQ/8LdhdwzjGWU/s1600/IMG_2597.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EMkVzTKzFkw/VMRYrwv6llI/AAAAAAAAAgg/nFzamkPcl2s/s1600/IMG_2616.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EMkVzTKzFkw/VMRYrwv6llI/AAAAAAAAAgg/nFzamkPcl2s/s1600/IMG_2616.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<span class="versetext">These 2 were used for birthday cards. The top one with the heart started out by gluing strips of paper to a square of card stock then a heart was punched out. The heart was saved to adhere later. Under the cut out is another piece of card stock that had been textured with a script embossing folder and put through a cuttlebug. The cut out heart is then glued partly onto the square which is glued onto the stamped background of the front of the card. A bit of foam tape is put under the overhanging part of the card. A greeting is stamped.</span><br />
<span class="versetext">The pink doll tag </span><span class="versetext">is using a stamp from Julie Nutting who has a whole series of doll stamps. (I won the doll stamp in a drawing on one of the online scrapbook shows that I watch.) The doll was stamped then the parts were stamped on different papers for the 2 sections of her dress. I glued lace at the hem. The tag was textured with a swirl embossing folder with different papers glued on. I cut out the rose from a decorative paper and at the bottom right is a smaller tag with the birthday greeting stamped on. The edging on the left is from an edge punch from Martha Stewart. A shiny heart and sheer ribbon was added to finish.</span><br />
<span class="versetext"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rh_-eGIMJoM/VMRbV-xix8I/AAAAAAAAAgs/9aU9xFnU3YE/s1600/IMG_2653.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Rh_-eGIMJoM/VMRbV-xix8I/AAAAAAAAAgs/9aU9xFnU3YE/s1600/IMG_2653.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Here is a card I used for a sympathy card. The white strip was textured using a damask embossing folder. The large black and white flowers are the pansy punches from Stampin Up. The small aqua flowers are from the Boho punch also from Stampin Up as is the black edge punch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZQdjmMa9y3g/VMRbWhhUj3I/AAAAAAAAAg0/ZrJ5Va5zDHM/s1600/IMG_2654.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZQdjmMa9y3g/VMRbWhhUj3I/AAAAAAAAAg0/ZrJ5Va5zDHM/s1600/IMG_2654.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
We have a few kids in our church so have to keep up on kids cards as well. This is a simple use of colored card stock that has been circle die cut and then textured in a lot of different folders. The eyes are die cut and punched.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vLI5qZUlIPM/VMRbbPZX8PI/AAAAAAAAAg8/jsnhekBqoPk/s1600/IMG_2655.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vLI5qZUlIPM/VMRbbPZX8PI/AAAAAAAAAg8/jsnhekBqoPk/s1600/IMG_2655.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
One of the men in our church had a birthday so got out the deer paper. The head was fussy cut and applied to a die cut scallop circle with some washi tape under.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jqlPmR9qjqk/VMRbg7G2_cI/AAAAAAAAAhE/XZVXV0xpkxw/s1600/IMG_2660.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jqlPmR9qjqk/VMRbg7G2_cI/AAAAAAAAAhE/XZVXV0xpkxw/s1600/IMG_2660.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
A different format was used for this square card. I wanted to try this technique of using a punch but only on part of the card so that it would remain instead of being completely punched away. Pansy punches from SU are the main flowers and Martha Stewart leaf punch. Small yellow flowers are from the Boho SU Punch. The envelope was made using the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board and some co-ordinating scrapbook paper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ydk7jiBin_k/VMRd0WjJBrI/AAAAAAAAAhY/5Jt73tSf7mg/s1600/IMG_2662.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ydk7jiBin_k/VMRd0WjJBrI/AAAAAAAAAhY/5Jt73tSf7mg/s1600/IMG_2662.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
At this time of year there are usually some sewing projects. I think I already posted the jammy pants and pillow cases I made for the grandkids. They like to use flannel hankies, especially when they have a cold. So I made up a batch of them in fun prints. (The photo was oriented correctly but didn't transfer right.)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5dMssUSk9u4/VMRefByK3tI/AAAAAAAAAhg/D1nE1T9FU8M/s1600/IMG_2729.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5dMssUSk9u4/VMRefByK3tI/AAAAAAAAAhg/D1nE1T9FU8M/s1600/IMG_2729.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
This card front was made with mirror paper and an embossing folder. The labels were die cuts in 2 different sizes with flowers added.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7CDkl9eSlnk/VMRegUGthvI/AAAAAAAAAho/trt9Jb82t70/s1600/IMG_2733.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7CDkl9eSlnk/VMRegUGthvI/AAAAAAAAAho/trt9Jb82t70/s1600/IMG_2733.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
This was a "cheater" card as I used some decorative paper. The little "birds" on the side were done using origami folding.<br />
<br />
I hope this finds you all well and doing good. All the best for the new year.<br />
Keep on crafting.<br />
Blessings,<br />
Meg :)<br />

Hi bloggers,</div>

The kids are back in school, fall programs have started and plans for the various holidays are being made. Here in the Pacific Northwest we are having a bit of late summer, but predictions are for colder weather to get to us next week. In the meantime, we are enjoying the lovely days and cooler nights in the Columbia Gorge. </div>

In this season of the year we are reminded of the harvest of the year and what we are thankful for.</div>

This banner project was inspired by Gwen Casteel. She showed on her ustream show a Halloween banner using large tags. I didn't have the tags or chipboard so used cereal and cracker boxes cut into tag shapes with two layers glued together. They are covered with scrapbook paper, washi tape, stickers and letters cut with a Cricut. They are tied together with ribbon or string. At the ends are colored notebook rings to hang.</div>

These cards were made when a couple friends came over to stamp. The top left card's focal point is from some heavy decorated paper. A flower was die cut and a brad added. The Wheat one was an experiment into the world of watercolor. I used regular artist watercolor paper with distress inks. The sunbeam one on the bottom was various decorated papers. The label in the middle was made with stamp and die from Paper Trey.</div>

These projects are what I will be teaching next week at our local scrapbook store, Urban Paper. The two items on top are gift card holders in 2 sizes using the envelope punch board. The card next to them is using the folded Christmas tree and there is also a gift tag. Always need tags!!</div>

Hope you enjoyed having a look at my projects and might have found something to try for yourself. This is the season that keeps crafters busy. The main thing is to have fun with your projects. Be "arty" as often as you can. </div>

As I sit in the office today, I am so thankful for air conditioning. Actually it is a bit cooler today with temps. in low 90's. Humidity seems a bit up for our area which makes it seem hotter. But we have experienced those conditions most all summer. Our family (3 daughters and families) all traveled to North Carolina to attend the wedding of our son/brother. Those of you who live or have visited the east coast know how conditions can be at the end of June. Whew!! is all I need to say!! We had a fantastic time with the family, extending on to aunt, uncle and cousins in Georgia. Pictures of the wedding can be found on my Facebook page.<br />

The top card is the wedding card I made for my son's wedding. The large edge punch is a Martha Stewart; heart punch is Stampin' Up (both are textured with SU embossing folders: elegant lines and swiss dots I think); small flowers are SU Boho Blossom punch and leaves are unknown punch. The edging at top is SU scallop edge punch. The ribbon is from Joann's (a two faceted ribbon with satin on one side and sheer on other with sparkly line in between). Inside paper matches outside blue cardstock.<br />
The second card is my son's birthday card. This was made at a friend's house so do not know the origin of the ingredients.<br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oOgXp7Zgoo4/U92I_vYS6qI/AAAAAAAAAcY/m0bZT8XftvQ/s1600/IMG_1999.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oOgXp7Zgoo4/U92I_vYS6qI/AAAAAAAAAcY/m0bZT8XftvQ/s1600/IMG_1999.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
This is similar to a card shown earlier but made in the same way. The inside of the folded square reveals a cut and tuck die cut from Spellbinders using double sided paper.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-S4sIasL9AQs/U92JBY25ukI/AAAAAAAAAco/65AWQ_-Kplk/s1600/IMG_2021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-S4sIasL9AQs/U92JBY25ukI/AAAAAAAAAco/65AWQ_-Kplk/s1600/IMG_2021.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
The swing card in many versions is very popular right now. To make this card, we used a die to cut the card stock and the accent papers. There are various manufacturers that make these so you can check with your local crafting/stamp/scrapbook store or online. Another method to this technique is to use just a label or medallion die on the fold to attain the same effect. Do a search of swing cards on YouTube.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KbaDIXXkwsA/U92JD9Io0mI/AAAAAAAAAcw/HTE2K1jen5A/s1600/IMG_2025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KbaDIXXkwsA/U92JD9Io0mI/AAAAAAAAAcw/HTE2K1jen5A/s1600/IMG_2025.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
At our local stamp club one of the themes was to make a card using some kind of creative fold. I think this one is called "folded corner card." There are just 2 cuts made using your paper trimmer and then the corner is folded inside out. Then it can be decorated as you wish. All three colored papers that I used were cut and then textured w/ embossing folders. A small circle punch was used for the center ray.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6CUbmUE_Pps/U92JGdHHTRI/AAAAAAAAAc4/bC527VKpKMA/s1600/IMG_2023.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6CUbmUE_Pps/U92JGdHHTRI/AAAAAAAAAc4/bC527VKpKMA/s1600/IMG_2023.JPG" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
These cards are in the collection of 10-minute creative fold cards we made at our monthly stamp club. Most of them you can pretty much see how they are folded. The get well card is not necessarily creatively folded as she is new back to card making. But it is a pretty cute card.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YlqZC5J7Yj8/U92JJqfSNOI/AAAAAAAAAdI/vLNpgSLkb1E/s1600/IMG_2020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YlqZC5J7Yj8/U92JJqfSNOI/AAAAAAAAAdI/vLNpgSLkb1E/s1600/IMG_2020.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
To wander a bit from card making, sewing was also done. A couple of pictures of these bags were included in a previous post, but this gives another view. They are fun to make and think the grand kids enjoyed using them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-N6GH1euHw2w/U92Mo2pLdHI/AAAAAAAAAdU/pJZH1-n5FDo/s1600/IMG_2378.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-N6GH1euHw2w/U92Mo2pLdHI/AAAAAAAAAdU/pJZH1-n5FDo/s1600/IMG_2378.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
As you can see, this is a get well card for a friend who had surgery. The masking technique is fun and can be made using a lot of shapes of masks. Painter's masking tape was used to make the mask for this card .(Die cut negatives can also be used for a mask.) Then a single black image is stamped and sentiment & embellishments added. Check out some of the offerings on YouTube for masking.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mL9aF0BQKks/U92NRGAxA4I/AAAAAAAAAdc/YoZwWlUAa8A/s1600/IMG_2379.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mL9aF0BQKks/U92NRGAxA4I/AAAAAAAAAdc/YoZwWlUAa8A/s1600/IMG_2379.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Oops, sorry about it laying on it's side. The background stamps are from Stampin' Up. The focal point is a small piece of card stock covered with various strips of paper. You can also use washi or paper tape. I used a heart punch from SU to punch out the middle. A solid piece of card stock was cut to fit underneath and textured before adhering down. The heart was attached on the side of the original piece and suitable greeting added. This could be used for many occasions. The occasion for this one happened to be a birthday.<br />
<br />
I hope you have enjoyed seeing what has come off my crafting table. If there is something not familiar to you here, why not try a new technique next time you sit at your craft table. There are so many things available out there! Make your own version of them.<br />
<br />
Blessings to you and yours,<br />

What a lovely spring we have had here in the Columbia Gorge. Lots of wind lately, but that cools things down which is good. Flowers are in abundance and wonderful to see. The local cherries are getting ready to be harvested so a busy time around the valley. School is out for the summer so let the fun begin!<br />
<br />
It has been too long since I have last posted so need to do some catch up. So settle in and get comfy. The first group of cards were done at a friend's house. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vlyPwkm-nns/U5pnJXZ3XVI/AAAAAAAAAZM/0xu9USsVDw8/s1600/IMG_1910.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vlyPwkm-nns/U5pnJXZ3XVI/AAAAAAAAAZM/0xu9USsVDw8/s1600/IMG_1910.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
The green one (inspired by C. Pooler) has a front piece of white cardstock that is textured w/ a "Diamond" embossing folder; color added using a stencil I think it is by crafter's workshop.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The purple one used a Spellbinders die for the shape; perfect plum card stock by SU; embossing folder by Cuttlebug & unknown flowers. The grass die is from Impression Obsession.<br />

The yellow one is tangerine tango card stock, scallop edge and "Heartfelt Thanks" sentiment from Stampin UP. Flowers and leave by 7 Gypsies. Inspired by Sara Lincoln. Top view is closed and bottom view is the inside opened up.<br />

The next few cards were sent to me by a very nice friend. If you check the trim, it is her very own tatting on one of the cards. She does such lovely work. Thank you so much L. H.<br />

It's the time of year for graduations so I had the opportunity to make one for a relative who completed his college degree. The card is a diamond top folded card. The white card stock has been texturized with an embossing folder. Tassle was made from paper with a brad to hold it on. The bottom shows the inside where I also used an embossing folder (Cuttlebug) on the congrats and then inked it to make it show up a bit better.<br />

This card was an example for the class I taught at our local scrapbook store. Sorry it is sideways. It is called the square frame card. I think I saw it on Deb Valder's video. We used double sided card stock. The strip at the bottom is made using a Martha Stewart Cherish edge punch.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4U5LQ46TWng/U5pnpu10tAI/AAAAAAAAAbI/AW81vrdRJng/s1600/IMG_1996.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4U5LQ46TWng/U5pnpu10tAI/AAAAAAAAAbI/AW81vrdRJng/s1600/IMG_1996.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
This is an anniversary card. The decorated papers are from various different sources. The hearts were cut using a SU heart punch and then texturized with the dot embossing folder. They are lifted up off the card using a "Jacob's ladder" strip.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1n4gh3dKEjU/U5pu9HYKOZI/AAAAAAAAAbU/b3Z6vqABx-o/s1600/IMG_1997.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1n4gh3dKEjU/U5pu9HYKOZI/AAAAAAAAAbU/b3Z6vqABx-o/s1600/IMG_1997.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
This double side step turtle card was for my neighbor who loves turtles. I got the picture off the internet; texturized the side & bottom panels, stamped a greeting panel and added turtle buttons from LaMode & JoAnn's and some unknown little shiny beads.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Now for a change in the line up to sewing. For the entertainment of my grandkids during the summer's travels I have made activity notebooks.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j4zD0tDALWk/U5pnm0aQ7iI/AAAAAAAAAaw/trbWxEcyfPc/s1600/IMG_1993.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j4zD0tDALWk/U5pnm0aQ7iI/AAAAAAAAAaw/trbWxEcyfPc/s1600/IMG_1993.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Vs3lFkW73-c/U5pno1O9mUI/AAAAAAAAAbA/_voHFXweSjg/s1600/IMG_1994.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Vs3lFkW73-c/U5pno1O9mUI/AAAAAAAAAbA/_voHFXweSjg/s1600/IMG_1994.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
For the larger one I took a 3 ring binder and covered it w/ fabric taken from a pair of jeans. The back pocket was put onto the front making 2 pockets there to hold the flannel hankies I made. The front right pocket of the jeans was put on the left side of the inside of the cover making a couple more pockets there. Another pocket was made for the cover outside back to hold activity/ color books. Handles were made by using the long seams on the legs. The smaller one is a smaller notebook done in a similar way. Pencil pockets were added to store pencils, crayons, pens, hand sanitizer, mini frizbies, sticky note, etc. Various activity books were obtained from the dollar store. There is also a bag for mom that holds the games, etc. for that family such as a dice game, activity/color kit, bouncy balls, balloons for rest stops sani wipes and child ID bands for safety. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hBsYgfpKfKY/U5pvFxbznCI/AAAAAAAAAbk/tDv1Iarw_nI/s1600/IMG_2014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hBsYgfpKfKY/U5pvFxbznCI/AAAAAAAAAbk/tDv1Iarw_nI/s1600/IMG_2014.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
The three smaller bags are "ditty" bags for toothbrush, etc. Those are for the kids. The larger one is for mom to put all those items mentioned above and maybe a few more. Hopefully you can see, they are all lined.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qLvztIjpBcw/U5pvIfsoYKI/AAAAAAAAAb8/RLrk5dDN3ok/s1600/IMG_2017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qLvztIjpBcw/U5pvIfsoYKI/AAAAAAAAAb8/RLrk5dDN3ok/s1600/IMG_2017.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Here are the other 3 notebook packages. For the girls, I decorated around their front pockets for a little more "pretty." For the older one I made the handles longer for her to put over her shoulder as I had some long seams left.<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed my offerings today on what I have been doing the last little while. Maybe there is a technique or idea you would like to try. Go ahead and go for it!<br />

This first one should have been on the last post as it is my Easter card this year. I came across the punch technique on Pinterest and YouTube so wanted to try it. These punches are Martha Stewart corner & edge punch. Using text weight paper fold in half the long way and then a little ways from the top fold over again. At the intersection of all the folds, insert into the corner punch and punch. Unfold the top fold and then use the edge punch matching up with where the corner punch left off. Unfold and you have a cross!</div>

Our small stamping group met at my house last month so I was to bring the demos. This white card is one of them. It is done w/ Stampin Up Elegant Lines embossing folder and Martha Stewart small monarch butterfly punch. At random points cut away the white card stock and put colored paper under. I chose some holographic shiny paper. Then to add some bling, I added some pink rhinestones.<br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uX_grRC4gqc/U21H7-5R0vI/AAAAAAAAAYk/0olW5aRHfoU/s1600/IMG_1906.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uX_grRC4gqc/U21H7-5R0vI/AAAAAAAAAYk/0olW5aRHfoU/s1600/IMG_1906.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Another project we did was this frame card. It shows off the double sided card stock so you can see both sides. It is basically layering papers in a contrasting way with the frame on top. To make the frame, start with a square, fold both ways once and unfold. Then fold the corners to meet in the middle and then partially back again. That's it!! Then add an embellishment in the middle. The strip arcross the bottom is done using Martha Stewart Cherish edge punch and an extra contrasting strip of card stock.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MXufc4WMG4M/U21HJX6lIAI/AAAAAAAAAX8/fPDAIBxJ2bQ/s1600/IMG_1905.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MXufc4WMG4M/U21HJX6lIAI/AAAAAAAAAX8/fPDAIBxJ2bQ/s1600/IMG_1905.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
Our last project was a little cracker box made using the WRMK Envelope Punch Board. It also uses the double sided card stock. I saw this on Deb Valder's YouTube channel. Easy to make and glue together. Then make a lid to fit and fill with goodies.<br />
<br />
This week I had the opportunity to teach a class at our local scrapbooking store: Urban Paper. Since I was on the trend of using the double sided paper, that was the theme of the class also. The same box was made along with the frame card.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-s1Dils6ULO0/U21HFPg9J1I/AAAAAAAAAXY/HmnAuWdIgeI/s1600/IMG_1901.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-s1Dils6ULO0/U21HFPg9J1I/AAAAAAAAAXY/HmnAuWdIgeI/s1600/IMG_1901.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
Here are all the projects we did in that class. I tried to flip it right side up, but it wouldn't cooperate. So I made the picture bigger so it might help you to see them better. Sorry. There is the frame card, a dahlia fold card, a chevron fold card and our little box.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zRDU97i2heQ/U21HIS4xW7I/AAAAAAAAAX0/iFlAtXy39ak/s1600/IMG_1904.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zRDU97i2heQ/U21HIS4xW7I/AAAAAAAAAX0/iFlAtXy39ak/s1600/IMG_1904.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is the frame card made with the card stock chosen for this project. In the middle instead of a button is a die cut from a Spellbinders die set.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9N783MqKz6U/U21HHfmyb4I/AAAAAAAAAXs/rtnXkjPy7V4/s1600/IMG_1903.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9N783MqKz6U/U21HHfmyb4I/AAAAAAAAAXs/rtnXkjPy7V4/s1600/IMG_1903.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This is the dahlia style folded card. There are a couple ways to fold these,but went with the most simple. The trim at the bottom is done with Martha Stewart Deco Fan edge punch.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uEjGaz5ddjU/U21HGFdDSHI/AAAAAAAAAXk/qiSWZcjjhv4/s1600/IMG_1902.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uEjGaz5ddjU/U21HGFdDSHI/AAAAAAAAAXk/qiSWZcjjhv4/s1600/IMG_1902.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-uEjGaz5ddjU/U21HGFdDSHI/AAAAAAAAAXk/qiSWZcjjhv4/s1600/IMG_1902.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></a></div>
Last we have the chevron fold card. This has been done on YouTube videos a few times. It really shows off the sides of the card stock. The little clip on the side I found at the dollar store.<br />
<br />
This is the card I sent for Mother's Day . The doily and inset are Spellbinders Vintage Doily dies and the butterflies are MS Monarch butterflies. The edge is just using a white gel pen to make stitches. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8hsvfyIe19E/U21HctwzGeI/AAAAAAAAAYQ/ouKD6gskZoA/s1600/IMG_1909.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8hsvfyIe19E/U21HctwzGeI/AAAAAAAAAYQ/ouKD6gskZoA/s1600/IMG_1909.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Hope you found something new to try or maybe revisit and use your own ideas. Thanks for looking. Have a wonderful weekend.<br />

Happy Resurrection Sunday bloggers!!<br />
This is the weekend that we celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord who gave his earthly life as a payment for our sins. Thank you Lord Jesus.<br />

<span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="color: black;">Matthew 28:6 NIV</span></span> "He is not here; he has <span class="Highlight">risen</span>, just as he said. " It was prophesied that Jesus would rise again and He did just that.</h4>

Now for some postings of my cards.</h4>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U6crKKtv6dc/U1IO0uW3ZlI/AAAAAAAAAWE/-U3fUM2xQWY/s1600/IMG_1872.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-U6crKKtv6dc/U1IO0uW3ZlI/AAAAAAAAAWE/-U3fUM2xQWY/s1600/IMG_1872.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
This is one of the many variations of masking that is being done. The frame is an embossing folder called Swirly frame I believe. The oval is merely done by cutting out an oval of a piece of cardstock and placing it over your card. Sponge in colors desired and then stamp on the black image.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DzAeGQUvcx8/U1IO6KHYecI/AAAAAAAAAWc/3tYol2JcGHE/s1600/IMG_1892.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DzAeGQUvcx8/U1IO6KHYecI/AAAAAAAAAWc/3tYol2JcGHE/s1600/IMG_1892.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
This card is made with digital images from Stampin Up. The strip on the left was cut from a page printed out from their disc, also the paper for the butterflies. They are punched using a Martha Stewart large monarch butterfly punch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LO0KFsrKnPE/U1IO4Q1SVYI/AAAAAAAAAWQ/lPjJdqHcCHQ/s1600/IMG_1893.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-LO0KFsrKnPE/U1IO4Q1SVYI/AAAAAAAAAWQ/lPjJdqHcCHQ/s1600/IMG_1893.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
The background for this card was a pre-printed square card. I then cut out 2 die cuts using Spellbinders dies for the circles. The banner is a strip of card stock that I punched at both ends, stamped and folded. The lower banner is from Stampin Up. The name was printed using foam stamps-unknown manufacturer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2nXlz8UipUQ/U1IO6dEW-LI/AAAAAAAAAWg/W2zSGkE-I84/s1600/IMG_1894.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2nXlz8UipUQ/U1IO6dEW-LI/AAAAAAAAAWg/W2zSGkE-I84/s1600/IMG_1894.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Here again are the MS monarch butterflies in 2 sizes and colors. The middle strip is a MS corner punch. The turquoise dots are stick ons.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TdtGct68EAk/U1IO8BG7SRI/AAAAAAAAAWo/oyXB1McleUw/s1600/IMG_1895.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TdtGct68EAk/U1IO8BG7SRI/AAAAAAAAAWo/oyXB1McleUw/s1600/IMG_1895.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y5_BVqN_20c/U1IO-T0_gOI/AAAAAAAAAW4/pV9jHibrJGA/s1600/IMG_1898.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y5_BVqN_20c/U1IO-T0_gOI/AAAAAAAAAW4/pV9jHibrJGA/s1600/IMG_1898.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
This is a new technique I just learned this week-the chevron fold. I saw it on Pinterest but don't remember who was the artist. It's done with folding paper strips-very easy but a fun technique. Two cards-same technique just different paper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IKgxfEuz5y0/U1IO9x5P_nI/AAAAAAAAAW0/lMiaQTLAyfM/s1600/IMG_1897.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IKgxfEuz5y0/U1IO9x5P_nI/AAAAAAAAAW0/lMiaQTLAyfM/s1600/IMG_1897.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
At our stamp club this month I needed another birthday card for one of the ladies so made this one up. I knew she liked birds so needed to put one on her tag. The tag can come out of the clear pocket (made using the envelope punch board) to be used for a bookmark (as I knew she liked to read). The bottom of the tag is decorated with a Martha Stewart punch.<br />
<br />
Hope you have enjoyed the projects. Have a blessed weekend.<br />
Blessings,<br />

In our area of the country, I think spring is finally here. We have daffodils and those tiny violets blooming. So nice to see the color after all the gray of winter.<br />
<br />
I just have a few projects to show today. One group is from my stamp club. We did a 10-minute card. Everyone is to bring all the ingredients to make a card in 10 min. or less. We set up stations around the tables and just move around until we have made all the cards.<br />
Take a look: I did rotate it on my disk, but it must not like that orientation. Sorry. This shows all the cards we made that evening.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ynxXFLPK9Fw/UzmqWaZu5RI/AAAAAAAAAUs/zy7zM2LyJgE/s1600/IMG_1856.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ynxXFLPK9Fw/UzmqWaZu5RI/AAAAAAAAAUs/zy7zM2LyJgE/s1600/IMG_1856.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This card is the one that I had prepared to take. I do like tags so this is a no brainer for me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cbCgrumwkoo/UzmqbmbhrVI/AAAAAAAAAU8/FBm-kbJRrH0/s1600/IMG_1854.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cbCgrumwkoo/UzmqbmbhrVI/AAAAAAAAAU8/FBm-kbJRrH0/s1600/IMG_1854.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
There is stencil work for the background of the card. I then cut a tag and used a corner punch to make the top cut. Then cut out the hearts at the bottom and stamped it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ckf18iYYJN0/UzmqbpXHIjI/AAAAAAAAAVA/Y9-tJa8fOW4/s1600/IMG_1862.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ckf18iYYJN0/UzmqbpXHIjI/AAAAAAAAAVA/Y9-tJa8fOW4/s1600/IMG_1862.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
This is for a challenge on the Scrapadabadoo page on Facebook. The background is decorated paper. The punch is a Martha Stewart for the chain. The flowers are Boho Blossom punch from SU. I don't remember where the stamp is from. It is gold embossed and colored in with watercolor crayons.<br />
<br />
Hope you are enjoying the hopefully warmer weather these days-although i do have a hoodie sweatshirt on today!! O well. a little at a time.<br />
<br />
Will leave a good thought with you: <b>Deuteronomy 32:3</b><span style="color: blue;"> "<i>I will proclaim the name of the Lord.
Oh, praise the greatness of our God!</i>" <span style="color: black;"> God is good all the time. If we but look around at all the things He has done for us, we will be amazed. In the flowers and greening up of the landscape, to the changeable weather, protection and guidance He gives us every day.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="color: black;">Blessings to you all!! </span></span><br />

Time does slip away and it's been too long since my last post. I didn't realize I had so many pictures of things I could share until I looked through them today. So hopefully there will be something you might like to try. New techniques are fun to try to see if they work for you. Never know when you might discover a favorite.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HxsCaISgK2E/Ux3z8isbn6I/AAAAAAAAATo/LijDWKPSLD0/s1600/IMG_1811.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RDNsEClOAQM/Ux3z5zdRIjI/AAAAAAAAATg/DL09DO448Cg/s1600/IMG_1810.JPG" height="320" width="240" /><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HxsCaISgK2E/Ux3z8isbn6I/AAAAAAAAATo/LijDWKPSLD0/s1600/IMG_1811.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Of course in February there has to be Valentines's cards. These have the front textured with an all over heart design and then a strip of hearts at the bottom. A "label" was made with a strip of card stock put into just one end of a die, making the shape at each end. The hearts are from Stampin Up "Hearts a Flutter" die set.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZcBJ_Q3CfLc/Ux30AP2jySI/AAAAAAAAAT0/UoXVKHdSvd4/s1600/IMG_1812.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZcBJ_Q3CfLc/Ux30AP2jySI/AAAAAAAAAT0/UoXVKHdSvd4/s1600/IMG_1812.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kv5uc16o8B4/Ux30IJpl8dI/AAAAAAAAAUU/AVDXHMi-QAY/s1600/IMG_1818.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kv5uc16o8B4/Ux30IJpl8dI/AAAAAAAAAUU/AVDXHMi-QAY/s1600/IMG_1818.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
At our monthly meeting of a couple of friends we made these 2 projects. Actually as you can see there are more than 2 since the first one has 5 boxes. These were all made using one sheet of 12 x 12" scrapbook paper. Both tops and bottoms are included. The next one is a fun folded card with pop outs where you can add whatever you like. We selected a saying. I later chose more decoration for the front and sentiment inside. The blue flower is my first attempt at cutting flowers using a die on felt. It works pretty well but I did have to add an extra shim. The card was a bit larger than the regular A2 size.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-90lk5IlNo4A/Ux30DI4QjUI/AAAAAAAAAT8/-xo6rTGB0ZA/s1600/IMG_1814.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-90lk5IlNo4A/Ux30DI4QjUI/AAAAAAAAAT8/-xo6rTGB0ZA/s1600/IMG_1814.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c5WrobVQRUI/Ux30EpWwnDI/AAAAAAAAAUE/ZeTRbW_UT7A/s1600/IMG_1815.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c5WrobVQRUI/Ux30EpWwnDI/AAAAAAAAAUE/ZeTRbW_UT7A/s1600/IMG_1815.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
This one is so much prettier in person. But hope you can see the details. It is a gate fold style card using spellbinders dies (I think. The owner couldn't remember). The main card stock is light aqua with sparkly stars. Bling flourishes are added on the left along with a pretty lady button and stick pin. It is all held together by sheer organza ribbon.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UtYqudwO5hk/Ux30Gd7mYeI/AAAAAAAAAUM/M_5VzF2KRYs/s1600/IMG_1817.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UtYqudwO5hk/Ux30Gd7mYeI/AAAAAAAAAUM/M_5VzF2KRYs/s1600/IMG_1817.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
My hair cutting lady had a birthday so made this card for her. The white lacy part is made with a Martha Steward punch. Inside is gold paper textured w/ a swirly embossing folder. The pretty paper flower was given to me so don't know who made it. Leaves are MS punched out.<br />
<br />
I hope there is something here you would like to try. Since the projects were done at my friend's house, I don't know the source. But you could do a search on youtube to find videos to help you with them. Youtube is a fountain of information.<br />
<br />

In the "group" picture of the 3 cards I have a repeat of sorts. The card on the left with the ribbon flower was also posted in the previous blog so you can see the details better. Also it is done in red which makes the details stand out better. Hope that helps to see what actually was done.<br />
Couldn't figure out how to edit after it was published so will have to figure that one out!!<br />
Enjoy your day. Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12264207699407866297noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7949583498053113249.post-23012515013455207532014-02-08T13:46:00.000-08:002014-02-08T13:48:44.807-08:00Snow Days!!Hi bloggers,<br />
We are having a snow weekend here in the white Pacific Northwest. Right now we have about 10" with snow still falling, but other places have up to 2 feet or more. So this is the time to just stay inside and not worry about getting in the car to go shopping. Snow pictures can be seen on my Facebook page. It's been longer than I would like to post some new project pictures so here we go.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mTX3AEzbHMo/Uvab8RZSPAI/AAAAAAAAASQ/VMw0vlUhBvU/s1600/IMG_1780.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mTX3AEzbHMo/Uvab8RZSPAI/AAAAAAAAASQ/VMw0vlUhBvU/s1600/IMG_1780.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kRtafwaFoXI/UvacAhTpNtI/AAAAAAAAASY/RBx2pz6ZPug/s1600/IMG_1781.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kRtafwaFoXI/UvacAhTpNtI/AAAAAAAAASY/RBx2pz6ZPug/s1600/IMG_1781.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
The top card is similar to the cascade card that i have made before, except it has only one side to multi fold. It started as white card stock, stamped w/ a text stamp and inked edges to give it more color. I then stamped and punched out the flowers from SU Mixed Bunch stamps and leaves from a Martha Steward punch. In the picture, it doesn't look much like it but it does fold up on the slant.<br />
<br />
The bottom photo shows a cute little box purse made with the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. The little bow in from is also made w/ the punch board. There are videos on youtube to show you how to do these. For the extra little tab on the front I used a small embossing folder to give it some texture.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xNcn6iy-9z0/UvaefwprboI/AAAAAAAAASk/KuSuC2p03IE/s1600/IMG_1807.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xNcn6iy-9z0/UvaefwprboI/AAAAAAAAASk/KuSuC2p03IE/s1600/IMG_1807.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
A couple of friends came over to make cards together and these are the projects I selected to make with them. The one on the left has a Happy Birthday embossed background lightly touched with turquoise ink. A flower was punched out of white using the SU Blossom punch and then stamped with a text stamp. On each petal and in the middle I punched a small hole and then threaded ribbon all around the flower. On top is a die cut of a turquoise flower and a brad added to hold it all together. A loop of the same ribbon was placed under the flower and the whole thing adhered to the card. The ribbon on the flower idea is from Pinterest. <br />
<br />
The middle one is a masking technique. Using painter's tape or sticky notes, mask off the card leaving a strip down the middle. Use blue ink of your choice, ink down from the top of the mask. Using green of your choice, ink up from the bottom. Remove masks and then stamp image in black letting some go off the unmasked area. Stamp sentiment at bottom.<br />
<br />
The third one is pink card stock embossed w/ hearts. A label shape darker pink card stock is placed toward the bottom w/ a strip of lighter pink embossed card stock on top. Three hearts are die cut and place on to embellish.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9k6JtqWb15o/UvagddhRRJI/AAAAAAAAASw/7ZUjBdykNWA/s1600/IMG_1783.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9k6JtqWb15o/UvagddhRRJI/AAAAAAAAASw/7ZUjBdykNWA/s1600/IMG_1783.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
One one of the scrapbooking shows that I watch, the lady was giving away some prizes that she had gotten at the recent CHA. I happened to win one of the stamps. So I needed to send her a thank you card. The pretty lady looking through the window is the stamp I won. The embellishments were made using Spellbinders dies along with some flowers, punched leaves and pearls. Thank you Zandra.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hMvNA58M4UA/Uvage5xD9AI/AAAAAAAAAS8/iofnKv8NhsE/s1600/IMG_1785.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hMvNA58M4UA/Uvage5xD9AI/AAAAAAAAAS8/iofnKv8NhsE/s1600/IMG_1785.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
A friend was in the hospital w/ knee replacement surgery. I didn't know she was going in and so only had a short time to get up to see her before she left and went home. Thankfully I had this card in my stash. It uses the ever popular Blossom punch and dots embossing folder.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DQ7a5e83ac8/UvaheerA-NI/AAAAAAAAATI/iZ1f-qydhOs/s1600/IMG_1784.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DQ7a5e83ac8/UvaheerA-NI/AAAAAAAAATI/iZ1f-qydhOs/s1600/IMG_1784.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
This last card shows off my latest bargain from Joann's Fabrics. They had some Martha Stewart's punches on clearance so I got this lovely set for 75% off. It is called Blooming Vines. The card itself is a slate blue. The punched out vines are of a pearly darker blue w/ a white circle underneath. The label at the bottom is a Spellbinders die cut which has a cobalt & silver ribbon under.<br />
<br />
I hope you will try some of these ideas and give them your own twist. If you are in the area, our stamp group will be meeting on Tues., Feb. 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wasco County Library meeting room in The Dalles, OR. I will be bringing the demo on 2 or 3 projects. Just let me know and I'll give you a list of what to bring to join in the fun. Hope to see you there. If not, try some of these on your own.<br />

I hope you had a wonderful CHRISTmas season and safe new year celebrations. It is a busy time of year, but full of meaningful memories and activities. Of course there were the usual mountain of newsletters and cards to send out during this time. But there are other occasions as well. One was my oldest granddaughter who turned 13 (wow how did the time fly!!) on Jan. 1. Pinterest has a multitude of ideas for crafters and I found the ribbon and bow idea so had to try it. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h439VXgfr78/UtQpbZRrKyI/AAAAAAAAARo/tcihP2RRs7s/s1600/IMG_1760.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h439VXgfr78/UtQpbZRrKyI/AAAAAAAAARo/tcihP2RRs7s/s320/IMG_1760.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
The flower is Stampin Up's Blossom punch, stamped w/ a text stamp and inked on the edges. On the petals I punched a small diamond shaped punch (could also cut a slit) and threaded ribbon through. On top is a die punched out w/ a brad put in the middle. More ribbon behind in a loop to finish. The background is an embossing folder.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
These two cards are sympathy cards send to the wife and daughter of a precious man who passed away recently in our community. Both have a stenciled background with decorated paper added. The top one I added white ink to tone down the brightness of the colored paper. The top daisies are a punch w/ green pearls on. The bottom one has the popular SU Blossom punch in green w/ the modern label punched 3 times in tan and criss-crossed on top w/ another medallion punch for the middle. I enlarged the pictures so you could see them better. The tone of the cards is subtle so not as easy to see different elements, but that was the end product I was going for. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br />The last two cards were done just by taking some elements that I had on hand and make something useful from them. So take time to just take out some things you might not have used in a while, combine w/ the favorites and see what happens. Enjoy!!</div>

Been busy the last month or so. As some may know, my hubby had a couple of surgeries which left him in great need of recovery. I had to learn some medical things, being a nurse, etc. We are hoping the upcoming surgery planned for Jan. 7 will help these challenges come to an end.<br />
<br />
Hence, there have been no posts showing what I've been making. In between fixing meals, doing extra laundry, changing dressings and lots of etc. I have made a few cards. I would like to show some of them to you and maybe you can try some if you haven't done so already.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4tdoQIZY9UA/UrnphnbKGFI/AAAAAAAAAPg/7b5jdzLO_mY/s1600/IMG_1700.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4tdoQIZY9UA/UrnphnbKGFI/AAAAAAAAAPg/7b5jdzLO_mY/s320/IMG_1700.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This was a birthday card to my good friend. It is the file folder style with the insert. I glued to scrapbook papers together for the double sided look. For directions on how to make this using the envelope punch board, see videos on YouTube.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H0vWfI-s5OU/Urn3Oiued2I/AAAAAAAAAPw/7TJk4Vpq6JM/s1600/IMG_1704.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H0vWfI-s5OU/Urn3Oiued2I/AAAAAAAAAPw/7TJk4Vpq6JM/s320/IMG_1704.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Playing around with a small paper stack that I have. The strip on the right side was made using the camilla embossing folder. The banner was made using the painter's tape technique. Using your ink pad, swipe it across the sticky side of the tape. Then apply it to cardstock. It leaves the shabby look with the ink. Using different colors if you wish, you can make designs of your choice.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2tHKnkfqegI/Urn30g6uOZI/AAAAAAAAAP8/BLWGwQ1BD6E/s1600/IMG_1705.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2tHKnkfqegI/Urn30g6uOZI/AAAAAAAAAP8/BLWGwQ1BD6E/s320/IMG_1705.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
The background of this card uses an embossing folder, I think it's called textile. The flower parts are punched out of irridescent card stock. The cross is first cut out using the lattice die from Stampin Up. It comes out in a square shape. The cross then is cut away from the square. Some silver lacy ribbon was tied on the corner.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tuOgOa-5f40/Urn4eTi9yBI/AAAAAAAAAQE/REnBa6LmZaQ/s1600/IMG_1706.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tuOgOa-5f40/Urn4eTi9yBI/AAAAAAAAAQE/REnBa6LmZaQ/s320/IMG_1706.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Watching a Ustream show of Gerriann Armstrong one evening she did this technique on some cards. An area is masked off with painter's tape or sticky notes so only part of the card is showing. This area is then colored by blending ink and stamping into it. I liked the whole stamp of the little girl so took away the mask and then stamped her. A sheer ribbon was added to her skirt.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KNXbCiez1l8/Urn5HeJZ0oI/AAAAAAAAAQM/NDGIY5yHUCk/s1600/IMG_1709.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KNXbCiez1l8/Urn5HeJZ0oI/AAAAAAAAAQM/NDGIY5yHUCk/s320/IMG_1709.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I wanted to mail a few cards to someone and the smallest express box from the P.O. was too big. So got out my envelope punch board and a box of Kix cereal and made my own box. Since then, the flap and inside area has been covered with decorated scrapbook paper. To learn how to make a box using the punch board, just do a search on YouTube: envelope punch board box. Should take you to several videos on the subject.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-n2p87KXVeeA/Urn5woEEEtI/AAAAAAAAAQY/qYEnfRhYVUo/s1600/IMG_1711.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-n2p87KXVeeA/Urn5woEEEtI/AAAAAAAAAQY/qYEnfRhYVUo/s320/IMG_1711.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
On a day at a friend's house, we made these 3 cards. The top left card uses the "Pretty as a <br />Tree" stamp set from Stampin Up. The right one also uses SU stamps, but not sure the name of the set. It is a gate style folded card. An oval was cut from the middle. The same shape for the bird to sit on in the inside. The yellow one uses the same lattice die as the card above with the cross. This time in yellow and the whole design is used. A die was used to cut out the shape, the lattice glued underneath and a piece of vellum under that. Ribbon was tied around at the bottom.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zYRlX3E86B0/Urn64QGsCoI/AAAAAAAAAQk/pQfCBKC4Nc8/s1600/IMG_1712.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zYRlX3E86B0/Urn64QGsCoI/AAAAAAAAAQk/pQfCBKC4Nc8/s320/IMG_1712.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nYi-v5Oqivk/Urn69PmFMuI/AAAAAAAAAQs/zgRIB6Xwmjc/s1600/IMG_1713.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nYi-v5Oqivk/Urn69PmFMuI/AAAAAAAAAQs/zgRIB6Xwmjc/s320/IMG_1713.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This is a card that can hold things like money, gift cards or other cards. It uses 1 sheet of 12 x 12" card stock, double sided. It is folded in such a way that it has pockets on the inside and also on the outside back. The Stampin Up edge punch was used to dress up the front fold. Stick on pearls and an embellishment with the cardinal were added along with a ribbon tie to hold it together. Sorry don't have the source for folding directions.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xtIxXLNDteQ/Urn7tEgCo9I/AAAAAAAAAQ0/OsALXmsZYBg/s1600/IMG_1727.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xtIxXLNDteQ/Urn7tEgCo9I/AAAAAAAAAQ0/OsALXmsZYBg/s320/IMG_1727.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
My third daughter had a birthday in Dec. so she received this card. I had made a similar one and given it to a friend earlier in the year and my daughter had said she wanted one like it. So hope she liked it. The stamping on the right side was embossed w/ hologram embossing powder so it sparkled. The green strip was punched using a fiskars edge punch. The leaves are from a Martha Stewart punch. The flowers are from a Sizzix die.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qGBK1vfzmjk/Urn8VknnmiI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/P17dW8FM5w8/s1600/IMG_1732.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qGBK1vfzmjk/Urn8VknnmiI/AAAAAAAAAQ8/P17dW8FM5w8/s320/IMG_1732.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
One day at a friend's house I made this card. The inside and backing are a gold cardstock. The flourish is stamped. Fairly simple card but o so pretty!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

A neighbor gives her kids gift cards so wanted me to make her some holders. This is what i came up with using scrapbook papers glued together, dies, punches and the envelope punch board.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iDcFDZp0B64/Urn8p7WV3pI/AAAAAAAAARQ/ALEdV7xd2FA/s1600/IMG_1737.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iDcFDZp0B64/Urn8p7WV3pI/AAAAAAAAARQ/ALEdV7xd2FA/s320/IMG_1737.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

Next photo shows the inside of them using various stamps, dies and punches. The bottom shows the method I used to hold them together. Since I didn't want to use a glue dot or brad to take up needed room, I punched out stars and leaves to use to bind them together. Since my friend was going to keep the cards on the original card that came from the store,I had to resize the holders to accommodate the larger size.<br />
<br />
I hope you enjoyed the photo show and will try maybe a new technique or just revisit one you haven't done in a while. Most ideas come from videos on YouTube and can easily be found in some version. There are a lot of talented people out there who share their talent. Thank them for that.<br />

Another beautiful fall day here, but gradually getting cooler all the time. We had some cute little visitors on our deck today. They didn't stay long as I had no food! Our neighbor fed some last winter so think they are hoping he will do the same this year.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F-ZsUqTjahs/UoAYdhzcv-I/AAAAAAAAAOI/mjGpyUxvsZA/s1600/IMG_1696.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F-ZsUqTjahs/UoAYdhzcv-I/AAAAAAAAAOI/mjGpyUxvsZA/s320/IMG_1696.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
Last week I taught my very first class at our local scrapbook store. Since I had recently gotten one of the envelope boards, I did my class using that great new tool. Mine is the version from We R Memory Keepers. Since this one has come out, Stampin Up has also made them available to their customers. In the class we did 3 file folder type cards and one project making a pocket w/ a tag to use on cards or in scrapbooks. These are another fun way to use the envelope board other than just making envelopes. These projects are inspired by Kathy Orta, Kathy Long and Patty Bennett. Below are my take on their projects.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Hclxj8bsYv0/UoAZROK8j5I/AAAAAAAAAOQ/DaRHGUKhDvU/s1600/IMG_1629.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Hclxj8bsYv0/UoAZROK8j5I/AAAAAAAAAOQ/DaRHGUKhDvU/s320/IMG_1629.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
First was the Staggered Card. There are 2 tabs on the top made w/ double sided cardstock. Paper is My Mind's Eye-Winter Wonderland collection. The snowflakes are cut from dies from Impression Obsession.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dPXSUs6yWPs/UoAZ5OnsJ_I/AAAAAAAAAOY/OVsUWkwtrUU/s1600/IMG_1630.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-dPXSUs6yWPs/UoAZ5OnsJ_I/AAAAAAAAAOY/OVsUWkwtrUU/s320/IMG_1630.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This the the Gate Fold style card. It opens in the middle w/ the tabs staggered again so they overlap each other. One side is the blue dot and reverse is gift images. The outside is the dot so panels are applied with the gifts showing. Paper is My Mind's Eye-Winter Wonderland collection. Stamp/Tag is unknown manufacturer.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-41U1AiZ-z3Q/UoAqnJ2vGUI/AAAAAAAAAOo/B5z_4AkeCm8/s1600/IMG_1628.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-41U1AiZ-z3Q/UoAqnJ2vGUI/AAAAAAAAAOo/B5z_4AkeCm8/s320/IMG_1628.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The third card is a Pocket style with an insert included. The paper is from Authentique from the Festive collection. The music shows "O Christmas Trees" sheet music with the pretty cardinal at one corner. This card will use about 3/4 of a sheet as you use one length for the card and then one corner to cut out the bird section. The die on the front is from Spellbinders Vintage Floral Motifs I think. The greeting on the die cut is from a Papertrey Ink set.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SqrP7uwnBUg/UoAsuNWyGyI/AAAAAAAAAO0/2Xt2C41PMpQ/s1600/IMG_1631.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-SqrP7uwnBUg/UoAsuNWyGyI/AAAAAAAAAO0/2Xt2C41PMpQ/s320/IMG_1631.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Here is the Pocket w/ Tag. I used scraps from the other cards for this one so the tag & back of the pocket don't really match or co-ordinate :). This could be made any size really to fit your need of a pocket whether it be a card, scrapbook page or other project. The front of the pocket is made separately from the back. The back is inserted & glued on. Then the tag just slips in & out for a message or photo to be seen.<br />
These project ideas were taken from Youtube videos. Check out the videos done by the ladies mentioned above. They are good teachers and make it easy. So hope you will give them a try.<br />

<br />
Here are two cards I recently sent. The pink one is a birthday card to a friend I have known for about 25 yrs. It is the swing card which was shown in a previous post. The dot embossing folder is from Stampin Up as is the Framelit die which makes the shapes shown.<br />
The purple one is a get well card using an embossed front w/ the side punched out using the Blossom punch from Stampin Up. The punched out part is on the inside to decorate next to the fold. Silk flowers & sheer ribbon finish it off.<br />
<br />
Our verse for today-<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>James 1:25</b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><i>"But one who looks intently at the
perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a
forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man shall be <span style="background-color: yellow;">blessed</span> in
what he does."</i></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><i>James does not pull any punches and tells it like it is. That is the way God wants us to learn about Him. He does not lie and does not want us to either. God wants a two way relationship with Himself so we must hear the Word and then be a doer of that Word. This is a freeing relationship.<span style="background-color: yellow;"> May you be blessed from God's Word and from the crafts shown today.</span></i></span></span><br />

This week was a double dip into creativity with paper crafts. Monday night was one group of stampers. Tuesday night was the regular stamp club which I've belonged to for almost 20 yrs. It's a good time to get together to see what others are making and get to make some yourself. I even remembered to take a picture of all of them before I gave any away. So here goes.....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: black;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DkI2o-D24Gc/Ul8-_nmlY3I/AAAAAAAAAMI/NOJU9Ae_9hg/s1600/IMG_1586.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: black;">This shows the whole group of cards made on Monday night.</span><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DkI2o-D24Gc/Ul8-_nmlY3I/AAAAAAAAAMI/NOJU9Ae_9hg/s400/IMG_1586.JPG" width="400" /> </a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: black;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-o9mJKxx8xxw/Ul8_i3qxOhI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/OSwH5WhzwMI/s1600/IMG_1587.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-o9mJKxx8xxw/Ul8_i3qxOhI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/OSwH5WhzwMI/s320/IMG_1587.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Here are a couple of the paper craft items. The little green guy was made from a cut-out from a Silhouette. (One lady in the group usually brings a project cut from the Silhouette. She is very good at using it.) The little basket is a covered half of envelope. Both contain goodies so guess who gets them? The grandsons of course.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8e_CfJKCOVM/Ul8_7k_xSeI/AAAAAAAAAMY/sXjECLWEsiM/s1600/IMG_1588.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8e_CfJKCOVM/Ul8_7k_xSeI/AAAAAAAAAMY/sXjECLWEsiM/s320/IMG_1588.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Shown is the card that I contributed to the group on Monday night. Duplex navy and white cardstock, light gray cardstock, light slate cardstock, Martha Stewart Deco Fan punches and a clear stamp set (manuf. unknown) were used in the making.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DuCM_aYuz6U/Ul9AXYlnlYI/AAAAAAAAAMg/iGTrUVUIA04/s1600/IMG_1589.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DuCM_aYuz6U/Ul9AXYlnlYI/AAAAAAAAAMg/iGTrUVUIA04/s400/IMG_1589.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
This is Tuesday night's creations. We each brought supplies and ingredients to make something. They were distributed at random so we didn't know what we were going to get. It was fun to see what we could do with what we got and also what the other person did with what we brought. You might give this a try in your stamp group. It was the first time we had done this and I think everyone enjoyed it enough to want to do it again.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Gyg4VvTQqFQ/Ul9BHKGRQhI/AAAAAAAAAMs/DejqfRYJpWo/s1600/IMG_1591.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Gyg4VvTQqFQ/Ul9BHKGRQhI/AAAAAAAAAMs/DejqfRYJpWo/s320/IMG_1591.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
These are the cards I made using a Martha Stewart punch (leaf vine I think) and tree stamp from PSX.<br />
Such fun with just a little paper, punches, stamps and ink!! Doesn't take much to make some people happy!! Ha Ha Ha!! But that's very OK!!!<br />
<br />
"Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promises to her!" Luke 1:45<br />
<br />
We know that He will never go back on His promises, and there are a lot of them in the Bible. God never changes and is true to His word for eternity. Praise the name of the Lord!!<br />
<br />
Blessings to you and yours,<br />
<br />
